The Brief: Using 3 Mobile’s latest campaign “Free The Fun” to advertise the brand at the airport.

The opportunities: Airport advertising provides a welcome unavoidable distraction to a captive audience. “85% of international frequent flyers enjoy airport advertising.” Airport Stories, JCDecaux OneWorld. In the captive airport environment, passengers can often wander the same spots and spend some time waiting. They will often perceive unique and eye- catching airport advertising as entertainment and will expect to see relevant messaging.

The Solution: Providing a fun distraction through the passenger’s journey at the airport. Targeting a young audience, we used 3 Mobile’s partners; Snapchat, Netflix and Soundcloud to provide e·ntertainment while the passenger is at the airport. A Wi-Fi zone for passengers to download music or videos before their flight. A ‘selfie booth’ on an interactive screen whereby passengers can enter their destination and a backdrop of the city they are flying to will be added to the photo. Then they can post them on social media and they will be displayed at the Gateroom.
